Wedding Trends 2010

August 16, 2010
The Wedding Dress

No Diva Costume Changes Needed!  We’ve got you covered…
Where once you had to have a long formal gown and a second, shorter party dress, now we have many sophisticated brides who are leaving the long train behind and opting for a fun-loving, short dress as the one-and-only gown—a hip and fashionable dress to dance the night away in comfort and style.

Keep it Simple Stup… I mean….
We are seeing straight, clean-line dresses starting to replace those big ol’ gowns with layers of tulle.  Classic and elegant is the vibe but of course sometimes “simple” needs a little something-something and we are seeing the ladies spruce this look up with a little added lace, maybe some floral design and the one we just LOVE…. Bright, colorful shoes (no more white satin!)

Boston Weddings

July 26, 2010

On Thursday, July 15, 2010 Amy Kimball Events attended the fabulous launch party for Boston Magazine's Fall edition of Boston Weddings at the Boston Public Library. The event was catered by The Catered Affair, flowers arrangements by Tangerine Creations, lighting by Groove Entertainment, gowns by Priscilla of Boston, makeup by Katrina Hess, cake by Jenny's Cakes, photography by Person + Killian Photography and parting gifts were provided by Bliss Spa and the W Hotel. Anyone involved with putting together weddings in Boston attended this event. Event planners, dress shops, hotels, and caterers all joined together to enjoy a night out and help Boston Magazine launch their Wedding Magazine.

Spruce Street Auction Prize won by Sarah Mueller included a night out at the Iris Gallery at 129 Newbury St., event planning by Amy Kimball Events, catering by A Catered Affair, and music and entertainment by Klass Entertainment.

Friday, June 11, 2010 The Iris Gallery was tastefully transformed into a Formula 1 cocktail party. Red lights illuminated the gallery and checkered drapery was hung around the room. Guests were greeted by an F-1 race driver and danced the night away to music by DJ Twist.
